Black Schwartz makes dark, unhurried folk music — songs about passengers, lost souls, angels, and ogres; tales of hope, love, death, and remembrance. Rooted in country and folk tradition but beholden to none of it, the songs of Black Schwartz bring forth melancholy and consolation. Born of grit, tenderness, and dark humour, the debut album — Little Meadow — takes the listener on a journey of reflection and acceptance. Little Meadow was recorded and produced in Toronto by Sandro Perri. Released August 21, 2020. A new album is in the works….

Horse of the wild — caught and was tamed,
Stabled and harnessed, rodeo trained,
Bucked off the riders, trampled the clowns,
Broke through the fence, rode into town……
